Iceland Day 9:Akureyri info

We decided to stay an extra day in Akureyri to take a break from all the driving and chill out a bit. Akureyri is the second largest urban area in Iceland and a quiet place. We walked around the city and drove as well. We had planned to do the horse tour, but the weather was not the best so we decided not to do it after all.

We stayed at Hotel Akureyri as explained on my previous post (check it out here)

    Akureyri Fish

We were in the mood for some fish & chips. We both got fish and chips (1980ISK) and i got mine with curly fries (which cost extra of course - 550ISK). It was ok. Not the best fish and chips I've ever had. It was a bit too greasy and heavy for me, so I took the batter out and just ate the cod inside.

I really need to work on my food photos hahaha They are awful!

Ok there is no way I will remember this name by heart. Its a burger place and its burgers are very very tasty!
    We got the lambburger (ISK2195)

and the pulled duck burger (ISK 2695).

They were both delicious! The service was excellent and the stuff very friendly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and it is very close to hotel Akureyri where we were staying.

    Indian Curry Hut

We were not in the mood to go out for dinner so we got indian food take away and ate it at our hotel room while watching a movie! Snuggle nights are fun too. We ordered chicken tikka masala (ISK 2495), Kadai lamb (ISK 2495), naan bread (ISK300) and the rise that comes with it.

More than enough food we were stuffed! Sorry hotel neighbors for making the hotel smell of Indian food, but we enjoyed it! :p

Stay tuned for the next island post! :)
